Overview
At Geek To You Technology, we work hard to build what we call our " Recommended Technology Platform”. We know that using products across this platform will give you a great platform to operate your business from (we know this because we “Eat our own dog food” and use ALL of the services below to run our own company).
Our engineers are trained in and keep up to date with technology across this core set of products to make sure that we can quickly, efficiently, and expertly assist you with working with those products.
We also maintain a strong network of contract engineers that we can call on for specific expertise in high level or advanced customization of these core services.
The following hardware and network equipment are supported for managed services. All devices must meet or exceed the specifications listed below and must be maintained under a current manufacturer warranty.
Use of unsupported or out-of-specification hardware may result in limited service or denial of coverage under applicable agreements. Unless otherwise noted, the most current version or model available from the manufacturer is required.
Devices must run the most current software version provided by the manufacturer. End-of-life (EOL) models are not supported and must be replaced to maintain compliance and eligibility for managed services.
Desktops
Business or Enterprise-grade models with the following minimum specifications:
- Make: Apple (Mac), HP, Lenovo, or Dell (preferred)
- Warranty: Must be current and valid
- CPU: Intel i5 or i7 (preferred), 2.4 GHz or higher
- RAM: 8 GB or more (16 GB preferred and recommended)
- Storage: 256 GB or larger Solid-State Drive (SSD)
- Security: TPM 2.0 Module required
Laptops
Business or Enterprise-grade models with the following minimum specifications:
- Make: Apple (Mac), HP, Lenovo, or Dell (preferred)
- Warranty: Must be current and valid
- CPU: Intel i5 or i7, 2.4 GHz or higher
- RAM: 8 GB or more (16 GB preferred and recommended)
- Storage: 256 GB or larger Solid-State Drive (SSD)
- Security: TPM 2.0 Module required
- Display: Minimum resolution of 1920×1080
Servers
Business or Enterprise-grade models with the following minimum specifications with active current license and warranty.

- Keyboards: Manufacturer-supplied or Logitech; wired preferred
- Monitors: Minimum resolution of 1920×1080; minimum size of 23″

Software
The following are software requirements you must meet for full SLAs to be in effect. Other software may be supported on a “best-effort” basis at our discretion.
Software Installed and Required by Us to protect You.
Must be kept current with the latest release and security patches. We adjust vendors as needed as the threat landscape changes.
Operating Systems
The following operating systems are supported for managed services. Clients must ensure that all systems operate on the most current version available from the respective vendor, including all critical security updates and patches. Use of outdated or unsupported versions may result in limited service or denial of coverage under applicable agreements.
- Windows 11 Pro/Business/Enterprise (Desktops/Laptops) – Must be maintained at the latest version released by Microsoft.
- Windows 10 Pro/Business/Enterprise (Desktops/Laptops) – Supported only until October 2025. Systems must be upgraded to Windows 11 or newer by that date.
- Windows Server (Servers) – Only the current version released by Microsoft is supported.
- macOS Sonoma and newer (Desktops/Laptops) – Must be updated to the latest stable release.
- Android 14 and newer (Phones/Tablets) – Devices must run the latest version supported by the manufacturer.
- iOS 14 and newer (Phones/Tablets) – Devices must run the latest version supported by Apple.
- Ubuntu Linux Server 18.04, 20.04 (Servers) – Only supported if maintained with the latest security patches. Future support may require upgrade to newer LTS releases.
Cloud
The following cloud environments are supported for managed services.
- Microsoft 365 (M365)
- Microsoft Azure
Third Party Vendors
Whilst we pride ourselves on our troubleshooting skills and abilities to solve many different types of technical problems, please bear in mind that for 3rd party products outside our Recommended Platform, it may take us some extra time to familiarize ourselves with managing and supporting these products.
If the issues can and should be supported by the 3rd party vendor, then we may help you liaise with the vendor directly to get the problem solved in the most efficient and timely manner for you.
We may still be able to purchase items from other vendors at your request (depending on whether our distributors stock it), however if any unforeseen issues arise in the setup, installation, and ongoing use, we may need to invoice you separately for this time.
